Derek Fildebrandt's time as a member of the United Conservative Party is officially over.

Leader Jason Kenney gave him the heave-ho Friday, February 2, after Fildebrandt pleaded guilty to illegal hunting charges.

Kenney says his decision was supported by the rest of his caucus.

Fildebrandt will continue to sit in the legislature as an Independent MLA for Strathmore-Brooks.
