RCMP from Vulcan, Nanton and the Crime Reduction Unit arrested three males and two females on a rural property on Township Road 174 and Highway 23 on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2018.

Along with the arrests they seized items that had been stolen from the Vulcan, Medicine Hat, Brooks, Redcliffe, Strathmore, and Calgary areas.

Police recovered five firearms, two crossbows, three bows, three atvs, one atv trailer, two cans of bear spray, a large amount of copper wire and 934 grams of cannabis

Police also discovered a cannabis grow operation on the property.

Brian Christopher Aske (40) of no fixed address has been charged with:

Possession of stolen property over $5,000 (x4)
Possession of stolen property under $5,000 (x7)
Possession of break and enter tools
Possession of a prohibited weapon (x4)
Possession of ammunition

Shaun Laraine Matchett (22) of Redcliff has been charged with:

Possession of stolen property over $5,000 (x4)
Possession of stolen property under $5,000 (x7)
Possession of break and enter tools
Possession of a prohibited weapon (x2)

Ross Brian James (37) of no fixed address has been charged with:

Possession of stolen property over $5,000 (x4)
Possession of stolen property under $5,000 (x7)
Possession of break and enter tools

Danny Robert Longbotham (47) of Vulcan has been charged with:

Possession of stolen property over $5,000 (x4)
Possession of stolen property under $5,000 (x7)
Possession of break and enter tools

Shannon Lynn Murray (37) of Vulcan has been charged with:

Possession of stolen property over $5,000 (x4)
Possession of stolen property under $5,000 (x7)
Possession of break and enter tools

Aske, Matchett, James, and Longbotham were remanding into custody after a judicial hearing and will be appearing in Provincial Court in Lethbridge on Nov. 16, 2018.

Murray was released from custody on a Recognizance and will be appearing in Lethbridge Provincial Court on Nov. 16, 2018.
