The Highwood Golf and Country Club is getting some preventative maintenance done this weekend to bring it up to standard with the Town's ongoing flood prevention strategies.

Starting on Sunday, August 26, construction crews will be redirecting river flow from the construction area, to prep the section of land for the construction site.

On Monday, September 17, the crews will be raising a 160-metre section of the golf course dike, and installing some rip rap along the sides of the river, to prevent erosion, and boost flood resistance.

With construction comes some traffic delays, and drivers can expect some slowdowns on High Country Drive and Riverside Drive N.W.

The east section of the golf course berm on the Happy Trail's pathway may also be closed intermittently during the construction process.

Construction will focus on preventing erosion near the edge of the Highwood Golf Course.

The entire process is scheduled to be complete within three weeks, but the process may be delayed, depending on the weather.

The Town asks residents to remain cautious when traveling through the construction areas.
