Longtime Turner Valley Town Councillor, and a former Mayor, Dona Fluter has called it a career, at least as far as municipal politics goes.

She says it's tough to point to one item she's particularly proud of in her 13 year career, but she says getting the reservoir built was definitely a highlight.

"It certainly bailed us out in 2013. There was a lot of hands that contributed to that. A lot of work went into it. I was just very proud to be a part of that you bet!"

Fluter says being able to build closer ties with Black Diamond and her work on the Calgary Regional Partnership were both very fulfilling as well.

Fluter, who plans on staying involved in the community, says her more immediate plans are to spend much more time with her grandchildren.
