The Boys and Girls Club of the Foothills is getting a $50,000 accessibility grant from the Canadian Tire Jumpstart charity.

This grant will be used to make the new Black Diamond Field of Dreams baseball diamond more accessible.

CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of the Foothills, Shirley Puttock, says, "We'll have wheelchair accessible washrooms and seating, paved parking lots and pathways, so people with mobility issues can either play the great game of baseball or spectate, and it'll be comfortable and accessible."

Puttock says, "We've got a wonderful partner in Canadian Tire Jumpstart. They help fund so many of our children's recreational sport fees, and also fund programs throughout the year, and our local stores in both Okotoks and High River are great supporters of the Boys and Girls Club."

Construction is set to begin after the winter.
