The Foothills Country Hospice got some TLC last weekend thanks to the 13th Annual Telus Day of Giving.

About 45 volunteers pitched in at the hospice Saturday, May 26, sprucing up the grounds for the residents to enjoy.

Operational Readiness Manager for Telus Business Transformation and Operations, Stuart Mark, says they've been spring cleaning at the hospice for a number of years.

"For the last six years, we've been coming here, and basically doing a spring garden clean up, mulching, weeding, staining some benches and cutting the grass," said Mark.

From May 1 to June 30, there are more than 34,000 volunteers taking part in 2000 volunteer events across Canada, driven by the philosiphy of giving back to the communities they work or live in.

"This is a once of year thing, just to get everybody out and doing something," Mark said.
