Campers looking for a place to go for the long weekend will be in luck in Foothills County.

Reeve Suzanne Oel says they're opening a limited amount of spaces at Hogg Park starting Friday, May 15.

"For the long weekend, Hogg Park will be half opened according to the AHS guidance. So we're allowing some spaced out use in that upper level with self contained units. But at this time no bathrooms will be open or will the day use area which will remain closed until further notice."

Oel says they'll handle the rest of the planned phasing in of certain parts of the economy in stages as well, using the advice of health authorities.

She says public facilities, like the Crescent Point Field House in Aldersyde, will remain closed.

"At this point our facilities are not opening to the public. Though, that will be a consideration, depending on how the buildings are prepared to meet the public. It could be through some very minimal opening measures. And at this point having to consider those based on the Alberta Health Services notice to us and very much proceeding with caution."
