It doesn't look like we'll be headed to the polls for a federal election.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made a motion by the Conservatives to set up a special anti-corruption committee into a confidence motion in parliament.

Foothills MP John Barlow says the liberals will do almost anything to avoid accountability.

"We are seeing the Liberals go to extensive lengths to hide, what they're hiding on the WE scandal and what they're hiding in terms of their handling of the COVID pandemic, are obviously things they're willing to go to great lengths to keep hidden," he says.

He says people in his riding are frustrated and want to get rid of the Liberal government, no one more than him, but an election in winter, during a pandemic, is not what most Canadians wants to see.

The Blo says it'll vote with the Conservatives but the NDP is trying to find a compromise that would avoid an election.
