Foothills MP John Barlow, is launching the Foothills Youth Advisory Committee.

It will be a non-partisan community link between the youth of Foothills area and Federal Government representatives.

“The youth of Foothills have strong and passionate voices, and I want to hear from them," said Barlow.  "This Youth Advisory Committee will be a platform to encourage engagement and participation for those that want to be involved, and want to be heard. I’m here to listen."

Erin Porter, Chair the Foothills Youth Advisory Committee, says this Youth Council shows the constituency cares about our young people.

"It gives youth a place to discuss issues that matter to them in a non-partisan and productive environment," said Porter.

They are asking that interested youth, between the ages 14-24 in the Foothills area, submit an application by April 27th.

Once selected, the council will meet several times through the year to discuss issues that matter to them and the Foothills community.
