The Hamptons neighbourhood in High River is looking to expand.

The area, ravaged by the 2013 flood, has bounced back with the developer putting 50 lots at the East end of the neighbourhood up for sale.

Landsdowne Developments Vice President, Don Sandford says they've sold 24 of them to developers.

"This last week we had the first ground breaking of a lot in that 50 lot package this year. So, we're going to see quite a bit of activity there between now and the Spring. We're really excited about that."

Two new homes are under construction in the Hamptons. Something not really seen there since the 2013 flood.

Sandford says there's other improvements they've done to the area that will make them even more attractive to potential homeowners.

'We rebuilt all the roads. The Town of High River has rebuilt Hampton Hills Park. Landsdowne has "de-silted" the storm pond. We've connected the storm pond to the Little Bow Canal. We're going to be landscaping around the storm pond and distributing the stockpile (soil) that's there."

Sandford says they hope to have even more homes built on the West end of their land around the storm pond, which they're looking to have ready to go by next fall.
