The start date for the 5th annual Okotoks ghost walk tours is creeping up on locals.

Okotoks Museum and Archives and Okotoks and District Historical Society have teamed up to take locals around downtown and teach them a thing or two about the historical buildings and the ghosts that may be occupying them.

Kathy Coutts, museum specialist and Okotoks and District Historical Society member says the tours are a great time.

"So these are our annual ghost walks and they are a lot of fun. We tour downtown Okotoks and we share some interesting ghost stories and other interesting Halloween stories during the walk."

All families are welcome but Coutts says it's up to the parents to decide if their children can handle the walk or not.

"We try to encourage people 13 years of age and older but we've had younger kids come on the tour. Parents know their children best so I think if they're not afraid of the dark and not afraid of ghost stories then younger kids could come but again it's up to the parents."

There are six one hour walks that leave each night and start Friday, October 28th and run through till Sunday the 30th.

Tickets can be bought for $5.00 + GST at the Okotoks Art Gallery directly or you can phone at 403- 928-3204.

Tours start at 6:30 p.m. and depart every half hour.
