Foothills residents are invited to join the Boyd Family for the grand opening of the new Laurie Boyd Bridge Friday, November 23.

The project to remove the old bridge began back in September, with the new and improved bridge now in place and ready to be unveiled at 5 p.m.

The Town of Okotoks will provide refreshments at the ceremony and ribbon cutting, which will take place near the bridge entrance behind the Okotoks Public Library.

The Boyd family will be present at the ceremony in memory of Laurie Boyd, and ask that the privacy of the family be taken into consideration at this event.

Both Boyd and High River's Debbie Stevens were raped and murdered at the hands of two local men in late 1981 and early 1982.
