A unique market in downtown High River is starting to attract a lot of customers, but they could use a few more vendors.

Handmade in High River takes place on Sundays and is spread over the downtown area and features booths like Doug's breads and Paula's soups.

Paula Elliott says the idea came from an Our High River Workshop.

"It was a brain child from some of the Our High River Workshops we attended and we wanted to create more vitality downtown, especially on a Sunday."

Elliott, along with her husband Doug, have a booth with homemade breads and soups.

"Doug makes the bread, I make the soup. Doug loves what he does and so do I. For us it is like a magic cauldron, it fulfills us. And people enjoy the products."

She adds it is an opportunity for people who can't afford to rent building space, to take over the beautiful new sidewalks, and peddle their wares.

Vendors who are looking for a new market to sell their wares are encouraged to sign up with Handmade High River Market.

There is a mixture of products sold at the market, it doesn't have to be homemade, and tables are spread out through downtown.
