"May the Fourth be with you" otherwise known as "Star Wars Day" is upon us.

Ryan Dooks, with the Star Wars fan club "Tosche Station - Star Wars Fan Force" says it's not just a day to watch one of the eight Star Wars movies, but for serious fans to get their wallets out.

"The Disney Store has some events, and new product gets released. Online there's a bunch of sales and that kind of thing. Even Star Wars dot com put out some suggestions for the day like drinks you can make, things you can do for Star Wars Day. So it's really morphed into a whole big celebration now."

Dooks, who ran a panel at the Calgary Expo called "Star Wars Prequel Appreciation" says today's a good day to give the maligned prequels a little love.

Wales Theatre Owner, Syed Kidwai, holds up a poster from 1999's "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace." He says it was one of the few vintage movie posters he had that survived the flood. He says he had an original poster from "Star Wars" in 1977, but it was destoyed in the flood.

Kidwai, with the poster from 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." He says he's sure to see plenty of business when episode eight, "The Last Jedi" premiere's this December 15th.

The owner of High River's Wales Theatre, Syed Kidwai, didn't own the theatre way back on May 25, 1977 when the original "Star Wars" was released, and being honest, he says he's not the worlds biggest "Star Wars" fan.

However, he appreciates the anticipation that comes with each new film, and even though he usually only keeps movies in the theatre for a week, if it's big enough he'll keep it for two.

He says he might even consider playing one of the eight "Star Wars" movies on "Star Wars Day" each year, if the demand is there.
