Despite the dry year, some farmers are expecting harvest will be even better than last year.

Justin Flowers farms just West of High River and says last year was hard because of an unusual snowstorm.

"The crops are good this year, they're not flat like last year was when we had that snow and the crops were laying on the ground," he says. "This year is looking good for us."

Flowers and his crew are still in the early stages of harvest and have just begun combining.

"We got 80 acres done for the feedlot, just that for now. We just finished silage yesterday and now we're gearing up for combining."

He says overall it's been a good year for them, but says it was a little on the dry side and is hoping for more rain next year.
