Heartland is wrapping up the filming of Season 10 in High River and it's uncertain at this point if there will be a Season 11.

Series Publicist Gordon Imlach says filming in High River has been a win win for everyone.

"It's been a wonderful partnership and it's been great for tourism for the town too, we had a chance to move somewhere else after the flood three years ago but we decided this is where we're staying and we're so glad that we did."

He says people have come from all over the world to see places like Maggie's Diner and adds the Museum of the Highwood also has an excellent exhibit dedicated to the series.

Imlach says the series is unique in the sense there just aren't many one-hour family dramas out there.

"We try to convey that it's for the whole family, a grandmother can sit down with her grandchild and she's not going to cringe in embarrassment at something she's going to see on the screen."

He says it's been a long season and everyone is about to take a long and well deserved rest and adds he's still unsure about a Season 11.

"It's been eighteen episodes, we started in May and we will be wrapping in the beginning of December, we don't know at the moment if there will be an eleventh season but the numbers have been really good so we're certainly optimistic."

Heartlands mid season finale airs Sunday December 4th, check your local listings for times.
