Pet lovers really came together in High River during the GoFundMe campaign for Heaven Can Wait back in 2016.

Considering all the donations that came through the GoFundMe page as well as from people who would stop by and donate in-person, they raised around $140,000.

Heaven Can Wait founder, Kim Hessel, says "The money we recieve goes towards cleaning supplies, litter, and many daily things, but most of it goes towards veterinary care."

The Foundation houses hundreds of animals, mostly cats, and say they recieve new animals all the time.

Hessel says, "we just got a big black retreiver cross, a young lab sharpie-type dog, and a new husky-cross that we've named Jamie...we have a couple of new faces."

If you're looking for a fur-baby to welcome into your home, Heaven Can Wait has over 175 cats and over 36 dogs.
