Fundraising BBQ's will be popping up around the Foothills as a great way for locals to give to Fort McMurray relief funds.

Nanton Fire Fighter Shawn Wiebe is inviting everyone out Wednesday night to a BBQ in Picture Butte, down towards Lethbridge, where they're serving up burgers, chips and a pop for donations, with all the cash going to the Red Cross.

Wiebe says this BBQ and others that are sure to follow are a great way to support and thank local fire fighters, but help fire ravaged residents get their lives back together.

"It's going to take some time to rebuild, but the more donations and support that everybody gives to Fort Mac and whatnot, it's going to be good."

The event runs from 6-to-8 P.M. Wednesday.

A little closer to home, the Foothills Boys and Girls Club is also hosting a "Newfie Night" on Saturday, May 28 in Nanton.

For $60 you get a steak and lobster dinner and some entertainment, there's also a silent auction and of course all the proceeds are going to Fort McMurray relief efforts.
