As the High River Brewing Company opens its doors Friday, May 18 in High River, their brewmaster told High River Chamber of Commerce members why he choose the community at the final Chamber Luncheon of the Spring.

Brewmaster Kevin Guichon says High River was a perfect fit for his company.

"We met, or at least talked to, a couple of other people and it felt like there were conditions," said Guichon. "When we talked with Mayor Snodgrass we said, 'What do you need from us?' and he said 'Lets get a shovel and get going.' "

They have four beers, Floating Barn, Diving Fox, Rising Pheasant Brown Ale and Muddy Tail which they tried out with a tasting at Spitzee Post this week to get some feedback.

"People were ecstatic. Everybody found a beer that they liked, not everybody liked every beer, but there was something for everybody so that is rewarding for sure."

As to the opening Friday at their location north of the No Frills Grocery Store, if you are going, watch for the signs to find the location as it's a bit hidden.

"Excited, terrified, nervous it's been 18 months in planning now. It is kind of scary to put all of this out to the public. We will see what people think I hope they enjoy it."
