The High River Chamber of Commerce had their last luncheon last week at the Highwood Golf and Country Club.

Chamber President Steve Muth says it's been a bumpy road but things are coming together for businesses in High River and the town in general.

"The work that the Chamber has done to build partnerships for our members with the Town of High River and other related players such as Community Futures to help further the economic development and show that the future is very bright."

He says he felt in the past there wasn't a concerted effort on the part of Town Administration, Town Council, the Chamber and others to be on the same page but now things are different.

He says they've worked hard to get businesses to network effectively with the improved Chamber of commerce App.

"We've had some feedback at least in my term of two years where they've said I don't even know who all the members are sometimes. Now they have the ability to go on the app and find out which businesses are members of the chamber. I can find that out quicker than a google search because I have a Chamber App."

He says he hopes more businesses will use the app moving forward and use it as the tool it was intended to be to bring other businesses together within the community.

Muth says he's confident the town and businesses are headed in the right direction unlike back in the 90's when he was in economic development.

"There wasn't in my opinion a concerted effort between all of the players, between Town Administration, Town Council, the Chamber, Community Futures and the various committees weren't all on the same page and not enough people made an effort to be on the same page and that's what was wrong."

The Chamber will reconvene this Fall.
