High River Town Council approved spending money from the capital reserve fund to cover their share of the costs of floodgates by the Centre Street Bridge.

The Town will put in $680,000 from the fund to pay for its share of the floodgate project, while administration works with the Province for funding through the long term recovery support grant.

The Town got a letter from the Minister saying funds from the grant can be used to pay for the costs and Town Administration will work with the province to file the paper work.

The grant, which provided $46 million in funding for flood recovery projects, had closed March 31 of 2017 but the Province is adding this project to the approved pile.
