Good news for a High River daycare centre and parents looking for a low cost place for their kids.

The owner of the Daydreams & Sunbeams Childhood Centre Julia Gwyn-Moris is celebrating her facility's successful application, to become a non-profit organization.

She says the rising cost of daycare is hard on local families in need of affordable child care.

"I felt that were at the point where parents in our community and surrounding areas could not afford to have child care fees raised. They're struggling. They're struggling already."

The Centre is one of the government's test sites for $25/day childcare.

Gwyn-Morris says this change will help ensure the fees are sustainable in the future.
