The agreement between the Town of High River and the M.D. of Foothills when it comes to staffing bylaw officers officially kicked in Monday, June 4.

High River's Protective Services Manager Peter Genereux says it's a good deal for now to share with the M.D. but it's still up in the air over whether or not it'll be a permanent solution.

"For the most part we're going to look at this over the next three years, that's the term of this agreement. We're very excited about it and looking to see how this partnership will look. We'll be evaluating it over the next few years and that'll inform if it will be continuing within this model."

Genereux, says level one officers, which are responsible for traffic issues are already on the job, with the level two officers, responsible for bylaw being trained now.
