High River RCMP are on the look-out for someone who tried to steal a dog from a local woman's backyard Monday, April 9.

Just before noon that day, the woman heard her dog, a German shepherd cross, barking aggressively, she looked out the window and saw a man with a catch pole looped around the dogs neck, dragging it to a white van parked in her alley.

The man let the dog go, when he heard the woman screaming at him, and took off in the van.

He's described as:

Caucasian

Tall

Waist length white hair in a braided pony tail

Wearing a navy blue parka with a fur hood
 
The van is described as:

White

A late 80's Chevrolet Astro panel van

Has two doors on the passenger side and two doors at the back
