After a week of competition and excitement the dust has settled and the winner of the 2019 Miss Rodeo Canada goes to local cowgirl, Jaden Holle.

The competition started on October 30, as Holle and five other contestants competed in events such as horsemanship, public speaking, written tests, personal interviews and a fashion show.

After being officially crowned as the winner on November 2, Holle says, she's still wrapping her mind around the moment her name was called.

"It was a great, great week. The other ladies were great and I couldn't believe it when they called my name that I would be the 2019 Miss Rodeo Canada. All my efforts paid off, I'm so excited. So when they called my name if I look back at the photo it's really funny because my jaw was on the floor, I was so shocked. I couldn't believe it until I woke up the next morning and the crown was still in my bedroom."

It was hard for Holle to pick her favorite moment of the competition, but one of her highlights was the public speaking component.

"Giving my speech that I wrote before the pageant was an awesome moment because it was something really personal to me. I got to stand up in front of the crowd and see my family smiling back at me. I was really happy in that moment, and I ended up winning the public speaking portion as well!"

As for the topic of her speech?

"I wrote it on rodeo slang so it was kinda fun! I kinda made fun of how city slickers might not know what we are talking about when they hear words such as 'Hazer' or 'Rank' or 'Bulldogger'."

Holle says the event may be over, but the year to come will be extremely busy.

"I will be working representing professional rodeo in Canada all year long. I'll be traveling around to rodeos, doing school visits, meeting people, you name it. There's lots of different roles I'll have throughout the year. My final event will be next year at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo when the new Miss Rodeo Canada will take over the crown. It sounds like my first event will be in January to the National Western Stock Show in Denver."
