If you're outside in High River on Wednesday, January 2 around Noon you may hear the emergency sirens blaring, as the Town tests both the sirens and it's High River Alert system.

The outdoor sirens will be tested for three minutes, however, they will continually blare in real emergency situations.

In addition, users who are signed up with the High River Alert system, will receive a test phone call, text and email from the alert system.

The email will be sent from the "Safe Communities Alert Network", the phone call will come from 403-933-6568 and the text from 89362.

The Safe Communities Alert Network, aims to provide up to date information in case of an emergency and ongoing testing of emergency alert systems is part of the towns emergency preparedness plan.
