High River's story is nothing but good news from here on in according to Councillor Cathy Couey.

She stated her beliefs in the new Family and Community in High River video which is part of the Rooted in People, a campaign that showcases High River.

The latest video features the people who live here from life-long residents to people who have just moved here.

Couey adds High River has an innovative way of thinking and everything is with the goal of making things better for residents and people who want to visit or for people who want to move here.

Jodi Dawson, Manager of Economic Development for the Town of High River says the campaign captures the vibrancy of those who call High River home and the Town’s tenacity to weather difficult times and emerge stronger than ever.

“This is a strong community to invest in, both personally and economically,” said Dawson. “High River’s continued growth is a testament to its vitality, and the breadth of opportunities it offers residents and visitors is constantly evolving. Rooted in People captures a snapshot of these strengths, and we encourage everyone to come and experience High River for themselves.”

There have been four videos in the series including Family and Community in High River, Adventures in High River, Agriculture in High River and Finding Your Path in High River.

High River's Patrick Waring has lived in a couple of places since he finished high school, but something here keeps drawing him back and now he calls it home again.

He has been in two of the videos and said a highlight to living here is the way the community looks after each other.

Kim Varey says ever since she moved to High River, 40 years ago, it has felt like a good fit.

Varey says the community itself has kept her here not just the natural beauty, but the friends and the things they do together.
