There's a new addition to the skyline of downtown High River, and it's not the government building that's under construction.

Damon Umsheid Optometrist and Partner with Eyes 360 says they're finally settling into their big blue building on Centre Street.

"We've been trying to move offices for the last four or five years because we needed more space, and a more functional design. When we decided to build we wanted to do something a little bit different in town."

He says among the highlights of the building are the 20-foot high ceilings and adds it has a contemporary and open feel.

Exam rooms have sliding barn doors.

He says they wanted an industrial look with all of the metal but then mix it up with the cedar components and some different colors that aren't as common down the street.

"Our goal wasn't that we wanted anything to stand out in a bad way but just with Centre Street it tends to be a similar design and we wanted to be a little bit different."

He says the main floor is just under seven thousand square feet and their second floor has about fifty-five hundred square feet of functional space.

He says they have two thousand square feet on the bottom floor and thirty-five hundred square feet on the top floor that they are already looking to lease out.
