Both the High River and Okotoks RCMP detachments were involved in a high speed chase Tuesday, July 31.

It started in the late afternoon, after Okotoks Mounties pulled over what they say was a stolen truck.

They were about to put the male driver under arrest when he took off, prompting the pursuit.

He headed south on Highway 2, which had the High River RCMP spring into action, but they soon called off the chase after speeds started getting dangerous to both police and the public as they were exceeding 150 km/h.

The man got away, but dash-cam photos and video from the Okotoks RCMP when they had the man pulled over should help to identify him
