The Saskatoon Berry Farm was the setting for Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson's UCP nomination kick off Tuesday, August 14.

Anderson's Financial Agent Nancy Murdoch, says the event was a great way to start the UCP Highwood Constituency nomination process.

"He's been here for a long time, so this is his stomping grounds. Wayne will do a party any chance he gets," she said with a chuckle.

Murdoch says the upcoming boundary change when the election is called will be happily embraced by Highwood's current MLA.

"The boundaries will be changing with the drop of the writ. Wayne was representing Okotoks and High River up until this point. His area will now include Okotoks, Black Diamond and Turner Valley, so that's different. Wayne's really excited about that," she said.

Anderson invited his friends, team and supporters to join him and his wife for a night of entertainment, refreshments and conversation to kick off the nomination race.

Anderson is facing a stiff challenge for the UCP nomination in Highwood from three other contenders in former Okotoks Town Councillor Carrie Fischer, former Highwood PC Riding Association President, R.J. Sigurdson and local business owner Dean Leask.
