The United Church in High River is going to be packed full of heavenly sounds this week.

It is the last week for the Highwood Lions Music Festival.

Mackenzie Kieswetter performed a saxophone solo and a duet with her brother, said it was amazing and terrifying, at the same time.

It was her first time performing at the festival and she did it because she loves to play music and it was a chance to perform in public.

"It's nerve wracking because you don't want to mess up, in my case my reed broke halfway through, so that took my attention away," said Kieswetter.

Volunteer Lori Koehler said the second week of the festival was packed performances with musical instruments including guitars, brass, woodwind, percussion and junior piano.

This upcoming week features singers, piano and musical theatre, and then it will be all over for the another year.

Andrea Oakley, a drummer with the Highwood Steel Panners, says the whole experience was fantastic.

"We got so much valid feedback from the adjudicator, it was just so expansive, and even in that brief time, it expands your knowledge of music and arrangements and possibility."

The public is welcome to attend the performances.

The Adjudicators Showcase Concert  is the highlight of the festival, it takes place Saturday, April 8, 2 P.M. at the High River United Church.
