The community came out to support another successful High River District Health Care Foundation dinner on October 21st.

Cathy Couey says lots of people dressed up to for the Celebrating Canada 150 eh! theme.

"There was lots of red and white," said Couey. "We had Bob and Doug MacKenzie, we had Terry Fox, We had a Canada Flag and we had some other very great red and white splashy outfits."

She added there are people at the dinner that have bought tickets for all 31 dinners and auctions and lots of new faces this year too.

"It's been some challenging times in our economy we didn't know where things would go."

She said the sponsorship far exceeded their goals and the tickets sold out in record time.

In all 416 people had tickets to the event and 20 volunteers were on hand to make sure things ran smoothly.

The total amount raised is not finalized yet but Couey is sure they reached their $70,000 goal.
