The 30th Annual High River and District Health Care Foundation Gala went off without a hitch Saturday, October 22, at the Highwood Memorial Centre.

Foundation Executive Director Michael Brown says overall they pulled in just over $80,000 in donations, which he says he's more than happy with.

"We exceeded our goal a little bit. We were concerned, the economy is such that we had our concerns. So we're a little bit over what we were hoping for, but less than we brought in last year, but the cancer centre campaign was in full swing then."

Overall they're looking for $340,000 in funding, which will pay for upgrades to the hospital's operating rooms.

Brown says they're also expecting another $70,000 from the High River Hospital Auxiliary.
