You don't have to look far to see Halloween is almost here and for one High River couple it's the most wonderful time of year.

Tracy and Greg Girouard have been turning their lawn into a spooky spot for years and Tracy says they still manage to put a scare into quite a few people.

"We've been doing this for nine years and it keeps growing and the kids are getting older and they think they're not going to get spooked but we still get them, every year there's something new."

She says people come from as far as Calgary, Blackie, Black Diamond and further to see their set up.

Tracy says prepare to be scared.

"Even the adults are a little nervous to come into the yard but we tone it down for the little ones but most of them know now that nothing is going to hurt them and it's all fun."

Greg says it gets bigger every year.

"The first year I had ten and the first year Tracy was here we had 153 kids and since the flood we're still getting about 120 to 140 depending on if Halloween is on a school night or depending on the weather."

If you dare to take a look they can be found at the corner of 4 Avenue and 1 Street S.E., just follow the screams.

We took the news vehicle around town and saw for ourselves that High River is chock full of "spirit" this Halloween.
