It was a very busy day for the casting people with the new TV Show "Tin Star" Tuesday in High River.

The Memorial Centre was jam packed with locals looking for their 15 minutes of fame.

Extras Casting Director Curtis Cripps says they did better than expected.

"It was a fabulous day. It was a really great day, we're very happy with the turnout we got, we got a lot of people. We got a lot of teens from the High School, which was fantastic and a lot of other adults and kids and we're going to try our best to get spots for every single person that came out today."

In all, about 450 people turned out to be extras on the show.

One of them, High River's Mackenzie Kuenz says for her signing on as an extra is going to be a great experience.

"It's an opportunity to do something cool over the summer. And a once in a lifetime kind of thing I guess."

The show starting Christina Hendricks and Tim Roth starts shooting Wednesday, June 15 in High River.
