Lansdowne Equity Ventures has received an offer from the province and the Town of High River regarding damages to Hampton Hills in the 2013 flood.

Executive Vice President Don Sandford says they are planning to meet later this month and discuss a settlement.

"Obviously we're in communications with them and it's taken a long time to obtain this, so we're interested moving forward and trying to decide how we might meet with the province and the town to better define what's in the offer and maybe find some resolution to any outstanding issues."

He says if a settlement is reached, Lansdowne may be able to salvage some of the construction season.

"We definitely would prefer to have a settlement because we think that might be helpful to recovering some of the construction year this year. So having a timely settlement would be valuable."

Sandford says they've decided not to do much construction until they receive a settlement.

"Our position is because of the complexity of the negotiations that we would not do much in the development until after we had reached a settlement on a lot of the issues due to the damage related to the response."

He says Lansdowne has been in contact with the town and the province through their legal council, and they hope to be in discussions later in May leading to a settlement.
