Just what features should a new park have?

The Town of High River and the Foothills Kinette Club are collecting one last round of feedback on the proposed new park on where the Water Tower use to be.

They're looking for people to fill out a short survey so they can move forward with the final design.

Jenny Jones with the Kinettes says it's exciting to move into this phase.

"Finally we are getting somewhere," Jones said. "We have to do our last survey to the public to get more input."

She adds they've had good input from other public engagements so they're hoping for the same results from this survey.

"We would like more feedback, any more ideas they may have. Especially as Summer is coming closer. The next phase is to design the things and get it built.

The survey asks respondents to rank their choices of features and amenities that would be most beneficial to this space.

It asks what typical features are preferred.

For example, a playground, seating, and shade; but feedback is also needed on the desire for custom features such as a climbing structure or zip-line.

The survey also asks if residents feel the space needs a historical component in order to memorialize the former water tower structure.

The survey is open until Wednesday, April 4 at 4 p.m. and any residents with an interest in the park space are encouraged to submit their responses.
