The Our High River group is taking a look back at the past year.

Jodi Dawson says overall the idea of getting people to feel more connected to the community and to each other has gone over very well.

"More and more community members are seeing the role that we each play and I'm really excited to see some of the involvement on voluntary things I see on facebook, people being really conscious about being good neighbours and good to each other, it's really nice to see," Dawson says.

The final Community Cafe for the year will be held Wed. Dec 9.

It goes from 5 to 8 p.m. at A River Ran Through It cafe on 1 Street West and the focus is on newcomers and their experience whether they were just recently new to town or long time residents.

"We invite anybody that has any perspective on that," she says.  "What's great about High River when you first come to be a community member and what would you like to see changed and what would you like to do about it."
