On Tuesday afternoon the Centre for Learning @ Home blessed its new location in Okotoks.

The centre currently serves 1,600 families across southern Alberta and this is the first proper facility that the centre has as they have previously worked out of multiple schools and spaces.

Principal Paul Byrne says the new facility will allow teachers to have their own spaces to teach out of and will help in the long run.

"With having a new, modern facility it allows us to deliver better and more efficient services to our families," Byrne says.

Before moving into the new facility, the centre was based out of four different spaces.

Byrne says as of Friday it will be his first meeting as principal of the centre having everyone together.

"It has always been a challenge getting people together for events like meetings, school activities and student activities," he says.

"Now that we are all together it will make things easier."

The facility also allows for other functions when it comes to students.

Last week the school had its awards ceremony for the first time in its new facility.

"Before we always had to rent a facility to have our awards ceremony and now we can have the ceremony in our new facility," Byrne says.

Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools Superintendent Scott Morrison was present at the ceremony, along with trustees Joanne Van Donzel, Mary Stengler and Ron Schreiber.
