The High River Chamber of Commerce hears from a lot of locals about what kind and type of businesses they'd like to see come to town.

And while Chamber President Steven Muth, says they certainly take note of them, it's not really the job of the Town to actively lobby potential business owners to set up shop here.

Muth says one of the Chamber's roles is to be an advocate for businesses when it comes to dealing with the Town, and to do that, they need to hear from their members.

"Government organizations, despite politicians saying this at points in time, are not in the business, or should not be in the business of opening doors or bringing businesses in or that type of stuff. That is the role of the business owners themselves."

Muth says they do what they can to help guide the Town on what policies and changes need to be made to make for a positive environment for existing or potential businesses.
