Director Mary Zazelenchuk said they have 500 new members sign and the increase might be because of all the great programs they are offering.

"I love to see people reading," said Zazelenchuck. "I love to see people using the space. The library belongs to everybody in the community, it is a community living room."

She said the secret to their success last year is making the space welcoming to everybody.

"I think that is one of the things too that helps build membership and helps build community."

Their success might also be because of all the things you can do there - besides reading a book.

They also loan out video games, movies and music as well there are several interesting classes people can sign up for.

"This time of year we have snowshoes that you can borrow, binoculars if you want to go bird watching, a couple of guitars and a telescope if you want to go star gazing."

They have things you can use in the library like a sewing machine and a serger sewing machine, and they have classes scheduled for three Saturdays to teach people how to mend clothes.

And for anyone wanting to make digital files for their photographs, vhs tapes and music collections there is digital conversion equipment.

Zazelenchuk adds the library is just a great spot to come a visit with people.
