Good news this week as some icicle lights stolen from the Light Up display at George Lane Park have been replaced, not by the thief, but by a High River resident with a good heart.

Light Up and Parade Chairman Ted Dawson says he had a lot of calls from concerned citizens and Alison Laycraft showed up at his door with enough lights to replace the missing ones.

"It was disappointing to have the lights go missing," said Dawson. "But after it was posted and everybody heard about it I had a number of phone calls from folks offering lights and before I could do anything Alison dropped by with three boxes of lights to replace them."

Dawson adds it was very encouraging to have that many offers of help.

This was the first time any harm has come to the light display in the park.

"The response we have had from folks is incredible so I just want to thank everybody for keeping an eye on the lights."
