The High River Hospital Foundation and the Cancer Care Clinic picked up a little more money this week, courtesy of the Lions Club and some music fans.

As part of their music festival that wrapped up earlier this month at the united church, the Lions raffled off a unique, locally painted violin, raising $715.

Michael Brown, the Foundations Executive Director says they appreciate every single donation they get.

"We're very grateful. I mean this is absolutely fabulous. The Lions Club I think is so great, because not only, I mean obviously I'm thrilled to have this support for the cancer centre, but the amount of work they do for this music festival. For young musicians in our community. It's all a part of what makes our community whole and we're thrilled to pieces."

The winner of the raffle actually turned around and donated it back to the Lions, so they could raffle it off again for another charity at their next event.
