Around 30 of the 100 ladies who care got together Thursday night in Okotoks to pick a new charity to give to here in the Foothills.

And group founder Karen Love says they had a couple of charities to choose from.

"So we had two separate nominations for Literacy for Life in High River and they also nominated the Red Cross, to try and support the work up in Fort McMurray. They decided to vote for Literacy for Life, and it's actually the 'Books for Babies' program. Where the provide families with new babies some good books and actually teach them how to read and teach the importance of early literacy for all of our kids."

Love says they'll hand over, what she hopes to be about $4,000 to Literacy for Life in about a month.
