McHappy Day on Wednesday May 2nd was another success in the Foothills.

Between the High River restaurant and both Okotoks McDonald's, about $13,250 was raised.

Maja Nuyt, co-owner of the local restaurants, says the support each year from customers is incredible.

"There's always smiles on their faces for Ronald McDonald House. I'm always quite stunned at the generosity and always very surprised at how many people know of somebody or actually had to use Ronald McDonald House so it's a charity that's close to many hearts around here."

She says she's thankful for the volunteers that help out each year.

"We have volunteers from all over so they're out there welcoming our guests, asking for donations, explaining what McHappy Day is about, cheering on our guests, so they did a great job at raising funds as well."

Nuyt adds staff are incredible at the event each year and is appreciative of all their hard work.
