The High River Fire Bell

It was 14 years ago the United States lost hundreds of it's best, as firefighters rushed into the Twin Towers in New York, only to have the buildings collapse on top of them.

Dave Roe with the High River Fire Department says what they did showed what people in that job are all about.

"It takes a special type of person to actually want to be a firefighter," Roe says. "Number one it's wanting to help the community and the other one is the challenge of the job. You can't question yourself as to why you're doing it, it's just has to be an instinct and you have to understand why you need to do it."

Roe says he turned on the TV that morning and stayed there watching the events unfold for the next 20 hours calling it "surreal".
