It was a day of fun and celebration for the residents in Longview, as they celebrated their annual Little New York Daze Parade on Saturday and Sunday July 21-22 2018.

This years event was dedicated to local Canadian athletes, and featured a parade, music, a blacksmith and baldesmith demonstration, an outdoor market and fireworks.

Owner of the Lost American Art Gallery & Museum Bob Caywood says its a humble, but spirited affair.

"This event see's locals from all over the place, its not big or fancy like the Calgary Stampede, but people here have a lot of community pride, it's like a big family get together."

Rob Hitchner of the Highwood Farrier Service was featured in the event.

Hitchner says the event allows him to promote the craft.

"It's great to be out here and show people what we do. We were at the Stampede this year, but this sort of event feels more personal."

The event wrapped up on Sunday July 22 with a fireworks display.
