Starting August 1st, the Lunch in a Crunch project will be providing nutritious food to students in need.

While food programs do exist during the school year, there's always been a big gap in the summer months and the project hopes to solve this.

Sarah Bruinsma with Wildrose Community Connections, says, "the pilot project is designed to assist students who may not have nutritious food available over the summer months. It's also completely anonymous as students only need to provide their grade upon pick-up."

For students looking to get some food, all they need to do is call 587-408-6502 between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday or text LUNCH to the same number.

The Lunch in a Crunch project is proudly supported by High River Food Connections and the United Way High River Partnership.
