Provincial fire officials working the Champion Lakes fire near Bragg Creek say the fire is now being held.

The M.D. of Foothills has also lifted their state of local emergency, while the Province has lifted the voluntary evacuation order for areas west of Highway 762.

The fire is also smaller than first thought, at about 60 hectares, versus the 100 first reported.

Alberta Health Services however, has issued an air quality advisory for the Foothills because of the smoke from the fire.
