It's a tough time for one Okotoks family as they hear about friends and family back in Manchester.

Adele Carter says it's been a hard time for her with two of her kids still back in the United Kingdom.

But she says it's been rougher on them.

"It's extremely really sad for us all right now. Especially because my daughter, who is 17, knows the boys of the mother that died yesterday (Wednesday, May 24). So, it's very, very upsetting, the fact that my children are also effected, as much as they weren't there."

Carter and her husband Ian moved to Canada a few years ago.

She says her daughter and 22 year old son live just outside of Manchester and neither they, nor any other family members were hurt in the suicide bombing Monday, May 22, that killed 22 people and injured 119 others.

"No actual family no. Thank God! Oh my goodness I don't think I'd be here right now if I did. I just think that living so far away it's very, very difficult because you want to be with all the people you're connected with, and comfort them."

Carter says the victim she knew was 45 year old, Michelle Kiss, who leaves behind her husband and three children.

Manchester bombing victim Michelle Kiss was known by Carter and her 17 year old daughter who still lives in the UK.
